CLASSWORK

This page features writing samples and projects I completed through classes at UNC Charlotte. These assignments have taught me invaluable tactics that I am ready to use in the field.

Campaigns

Before reaching Communication Campaigns, a few of my professors challenged our classes to out together PR campaigns to the best of our ability, using what we had learned in their classes. Since then, I've spruced up a few of these old assignments to showcase here.

As our final exam for PR Strategy, my teammates and I were asked to create a campaign to inspire volunteerism on MLK Day, on behalf of the fictional organization, "Charlotte Cares."

My team practiced for the final exam essay (to the left) by designing a campaign to increase purchases on Small Business Saturday, on behalf of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

NRHH Mock-Ups

I used the UNC Charlotte National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) as my client for exercises in my PR Writing class. These mock-ups helped me get elected as Vice President of External Affairs for the incoming year, and were used for promotional needs during my time in the position.

With this news release, I hoped to prove NRHH's worth through the announcement of the new Diamond Awards.

I wrote this media alert to invite media to a fictitious conference bid acceptance presented by the director of NCARH.

The purpose of this email was to pitch the upcoming NCARH conference as a story to a writer for the student newspaper.

This fact sheet was designed to teach UNC Charlotte Housing and Residence Life staff about NRHH's Of-The-Month Awards.

Facebook Fan Page

During my PR Writing class, I was given the task to run the UNCC Comm Studies Facebook Fan Page for a week. From Feb. 12-16, I reached over 200 Communication Studies students and faculty and ran a successful giveaway contest.

Other Projects

I created this e-portfolio during my freshman UWRT 1104 class. I spent a semester working on a multi-genre project, exploring multi-modality within website design and writing essays to tie my experiences all together.

I developed this infographic while taking PR Writing. The inspiration for the piece came from an article in the IPR's research journal by Terry Flynn, found here.

I designed and wrote copy for the Lynch Hall Newsletter as my collateral assignment for my position as a Resident Advisor.
